Pennsville Components branched out of the operations of BotBlox, a compact networking hardware company. Prior to the 2021 chip shortage, BotBlox had built up large supplies of ethernet components and had access to excess component stock. During the chip shortages, a number of BotBlox companies requested access to purchase these components directly. This operation grew to where it effectively became a separate operation entirely. They decided to found Pennsville Components to separate the component supply away from BotBlox. BotBlox and Pennsville Components are trading names of Kapek Ltd.
